CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) Update 12:52 p.m. Monday, Dec. 28 – Officials with the West Virginia State Fire Marshal say there is an increase to the reward in the investigation of Sunday’s Berkeley County arson fire that resulted in the fatal injury of a West Virginia Air National Guard firefighter, Senior Airman Logan Young.
Officials say an anonymous donor has pledged $15,000 toward the reward on top of the previous $5,000 reward, making the total reward to be 20,000 dollars. The reward is offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.

KEARNEYSVILLE, WV (WOWK) Update 3:21 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 27— The West Virginia State Fire Marshal’s Office says arson was the cause of the Sunday fire that resulted in the death of a West Virginia Air National Guard firefighter and officials are offering a reward for any information related to the fire.
The airman assigned to the 167th Airlift Wing in Martinsburg was fatally injured during a mutual aid response call to the structure fire on Charles Town Road with the 167th Fire Department.
SFMO investigators have connected that 1:56 a.m. fire with a second structure fire that occurred at around 1:36 a.m. also on Charles Town Road in neighboring Jefferson County. The structures were vacant and not in use, and about 3.1 miles apart. Both fires were intentionally set, investigators have determined.
The SFMO and the WV State Police continue to investigate.

BERKELEY COUNTY, WV (WOWK/WBOY) – A West Virginia Air National Guard Airman, assigned to the 167th Airlift Wing in Martinsburg, was fatally injured last Sunday.
The airman was injured during a mutual aid response call to a structure fire with the 167th Fire Department.
The name of the service member has not been released at this time.
