Woman who died hiking at Mohican State Park from Columbus


ASHLAND COUNTY, Ohio (WCMH) — A woman died after being struck by a branch while hiking Sunday in Mohican State Park, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources said Monday.

The Ashland County coroner identified the woman as Shelley Miller, 57, of Columbus.

According to ODNR, it is investigating after a tree branch fell and hit a woman hiking on a trail at approximately 3 p.m.

Miller was pronounced dead at the scene.

ODNR officer and the Ashland County coroner responded to the scene.
