Thursday afternoon people from both sides of the aisle came together for a public workshop, in an attempt to find common ground on the rebuild of Nicholas County Schools.
The mediation team held the event, giving community members a chance to not only voice their opinion to the team but also each other. After a brief introduction of the plan the council is currently considering, attendees were split into small groups and allowed to speak with one another.
The current plan that is being considered includes a middle school and comprehensive high school with a career center built near the geographic center of Nicholas county. It also includes a school serving K-12 students within a three-mile radius of the former high school in Richwood.
