WWE wrestler Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart dies

STAMFORD, CT (WCMH) — World Wrestling Entertainment has announced the death of Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart.

The WWE announced the death of Neidhart, 63, Monday.

Neidhart, who last competed in WWE in 1997 as part of the legendary Hart Foundation tag team with his brother-in-law, Bret “Hit Man” Hart, was also the father of current WWE wrestler Natalya.

Neidhart began his ring career after playing professional football with the Oakland Raiders and Dallas Cowboys. He was trained by WWE Hall of Famer Stu Hart in the infamous Hart Dungeon in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and earned his ring nickname, The Anvil, after winning an anvil throwing contest, according to the WWE.

“WWE extends its condolences to Neidhart’s family, friends and fans,” the WWE released in the statement.
