Standout guard from Dayton commits to Marshall

CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) – The roster for the 2022 Marshall men’s basketball team continues to grow after a commitment from Jacob Conner, from Alter High School in Dayton.

Last season, Conner averaged 10.5 points per game, 9.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists.

The standout guard had offers from several other schools, but he chose Marshall.

“Kinda just the visit itself was just… what made me choose to go,” said Conner. “I felt really at home, really felt comfortable on campus and then all the people there are former Marshall grads and they all said ‘yeah I wanted to come back and work for Marshall’ and I was like ‘ok that’s something that speaks for the University if they want to come back and help out. And then the coaching staff did a great job making me feel like a priority for them, which made the University feel like a priority to me and after taking all my other visits I just decided here was the place to be.”
