The heat surrounding the Jets after Sunday’s rough loss to the Cowboys appeared to be enough to influence star cornerback Sauce Gardner to take a break from social media.

Gardner, whose Jets lost 30–10, raised eyebrows online by deleting his account on X (formerly Twitter) in the aftermath of the Week 2 loss.

While the exact reason for his decision is currently unclear, one of Gardner’s last posts indicates it may have been a response to the criticism he and his team faced over the performance of Ceedee Lamb. The star wideout finished with a game-high 11 receptions for 143 yards, a standout effort Gardner claimed he wasn’t at fault for.  

“Damnn y’all really love sayin’ my name on this app lol. He didn’t catch a ball on me today. Source: Me,” wrote Gardner.

Despite the Jets now being 1–1, it appears Gardner and, at least, a few Jets fans have already found themselves at odds after a hectic first two weeks headlined by the loss of Aaron Rodgers (Achilles).
