2 Law Enforcement Officers Shot in Roane County, Suspect in Custody

A man arrested following an officer-involved shooting last week has been released from the hospital and is now in jail. 

Stanley Hoskins Jr. is in South Central Regional Jail on $750,000 cash only bond.

Officials with WVSP tell 13 News he was released from the hospital Sunday evening, and was booked at around 9 P.M. last night. 

One trooper was shot in the leg during the incident, but is expected to make a full recovery.

A standoff is over after a man shot two law enforcement officers.

52-year-old Stanley Gordon Hoskins Junior is now in custody. Troopers tell us they were responding to a domestic violence call on Red Oak Drive, just after 6 Wednesday evening.

A woman called 911 thinking a man in the home committed suicide. Responding troopers were met with gunfire from Hoskins.

A trooper was shot in the leg. A Roane County Sheriff’s Deputy was also hit. We’re told their injuries are not serious. The female call was able to escape.

Hoskins barricaded himself in the home for several hours. The Public Information Officer with the West Virginia State Police tells us, initial reports indicate the suspect was hiding under the home before being taken into custody.

Captain Reggie Patterson with West Virginia State Police says two law enforcement officers were struck by gunfire in Roane County Wednesday evening.

According to West Virginia State Police, troopers were responding to a domestic violence call on Red Oak Drive off of Price Ridge Road in Roane County just after 6 p.m.

According to our crew at the scene, a woman called 9-1-1 thinking a man in the house had committed suicide.

Troopers responded to the call, and upon approach was met with gun fire from the man.

That man has been identified as 52-year-old Stanley Gordon Hoskins Jr.

One trooper was shot in the leg. His injuries are not serious. 

Another man, a Roane County deputy, was also struck. His injuries are also not serious.

The woman was able to escape, and the man barricaded himself inside the house.

Troopers regressed and called for assistance.

Troopers have the house surrounded on Red Oak Drive, along with SWAT and deputies.
