UPDATE: 12/14/17 @ 1 a.m.
Two people have been injured in a shooting in Huntington late Wednesday night.
Huntington Police responded to reports of multiple gunshots near the corner of 10th Ave and 23rd street. When police arrived, they found 1 person wounded in the leg with non life-threatening injuries and taken to Cabell-Huntington Hospital.
Shortly after that, police responded to a single-vehicle crash at the corner of 2nd Ave and 20th street.
A truck had rolled over and the driver had also been shot with non-life threatening injuries, and police believe they had been at the location of the shooting.
Police say they are currently interviewing “victims/suspects” at the hospital.
Huntington Police say this is a “continuation” of their ongoing investigation into recent violent crime.
They said at tonight’s city council meeting that HPD had identified “groups of subjects” believed to be involved in the recent shooting spree.

UPDATE: Huntington Police and Fire Department, along with West Virginia State Police are on scene of a shooting.
Dispatchers tell 13 News that one person has been transported to an area hospital with a gunshot wound.
The extent of the injury is unknown at this time.

The call came in about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday night.
The incident took place at the intersection of 10th Avenue and 23rd Street.
We are working to confirm if in fact there was a victim in the shooting.
Witness’s say they heard approximately a 12 gunshots followed by a car speeding away from the scene.
