UPDATE (10/31/18 at 3:30 p.m.):

A man who intentionally jumped off the upper deck at Milan Puskar Stadium is still at Ruby Memorial Hospital.

Robert McIntyre, Jr., 49, of Mineral Wells, is in good condition after jumping over the wall of the south concourse area following a series of verbal altercations at West Virginia University’s football game Thursday night, according to WVU Medicine officials.


UPDATE (10/26/18 at 12:30 p.m.):

West Virginia University Police said Robert McIntyre, Jr., 49, of Mineral Wells, was injured after he intentionally jumped over the wall of the south concourse area following a series of verbal altercations.


ORIGINAL:

According to WVU officials, a 49-year old man in Section 134 scaled and then intentionally jumped over the wall of the south concourse area following a series of verbal altercations with others nearby. He fell onto the concrete concourse below.

Contemporary Services Corporation event staff, University Police, West Virginia State Police and emergency crews responded immediately to the scene. The man was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital for treatment.

There are no reports on the extent of the man’s injuries. The man’s name has not been released at this time.

West Virginia University Police is investigating the incident.
