CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) – State health officials say another three deaths related to COVID-19 were reported Saturday, and the number of confirmed new cases in the past 24 hours is 297.

The deaths of a 75 year old man from Kanawha County, a 74 year old woman from Putnam County and a 71 year old woman from Logan County show the coronavirus continues to have its most tragic impact on the elderly.

To date, 2,634 deaths are attributed to COVID-19 in the Mountain State.

On a more positive note, the Department of Health and Human Services says 308,348 people are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19 through one of the three vaccines approved by the US Food and Drug Administration.
