Update: Roane County man dies in I-79 crash

ROANE COUNTY, WV (WOWK) – Troopers say a Roane County man has died after a crash on I-79.

At around 11 a.m. Monday, a crash took place on the 23 mile marker of I-79 north.

Troopers say Cody Tyler Walls, 30, of Left Hand was driving north on I-79 when the vehicle he was driving ran off the eastern side of the road.

They say Walls then overcorrected his steering, causing the vehicle to overturn several times.

He was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.

AMMA, WV (WOWK)—Several lanes of I-79 North near mile marker 23 in Amma are closed due to a car crash.

Both northbound lanes and one southbound lane are currently closed as crews work to clear the road.
