UPDATE: All lanes are cleared along I-77 NB in Charleston after rock and debris in roadway


UPDATE: 4:35 p.m. Nov. 2, 2020 – WV 511 reports I-77 at mile marker 100 in Charleston is clear after the Department of Highways worked to remove rock and debris for hours.

At this time, all lanes are open to traffic. 

UPDATE: 12 p.m., Nov. 2, 2020: Department of Highways crews are working to remove the rock and debris. The rockslide happened shortly after 7 a.m. this morning, Nov . 2 near the Leon Sullivan exit. No injuries or damage to cars have been reported.

The slow lane remains closed at this time.

CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) – According to Metro 911 dispatchers, two lanes of I-77 NB are covered with rock debris after a rock slide Monday morning. Two lanes are shut down between Greenbrier Street and Leon Sullivan Way.
