Severe thunderstorm cause damage across our area

HURRICANE, W.Va. (WOWK) – Severe weather has ravaged the area throughout the afternoon in parts of our region. 

In the Hurricane area of Putnam County saw quite a bit of damaging winds this afternoon and hail as big as ping-pong size, which about an inch and three-quarter size ha

Putnam County was not the only area that was impacted – father to the north and east, part of Roane, Calhoun, Kanawha, and Clay counties all were impacted by this weather.

More showers and thunderstorms will continue throughout this evening but not to the severity of earlier this afternoon.
